On May 14th, 2021, “MRD CUP”Health-preserving Valley International Design Competition Award Ceremony was successfully held in Donghu Kaiyuan MINGTING Hotel, Wanzhi District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province.
Many international and domestic experts, contestant representatives and media guests attent the ceremony. At the same time, the international competition also received strong support from the government and academic institutions.
During the period, Zhou Qi, professor and doctoral supervisor of the school of architecture of Southeast University, Mr. Pell Eric bjolsen, doctor of Venice University of Architecture (Italy), Zhao Weifeng, President, chief architect, professor and doctoral supervisor of Tianzuo Institute of architectural design, and Qiu Xinxian, distinguished professor, curator and doctoral supervisor of Harbin Institute of Technology, Wu Xuhui, chairman and President of MRD Group, President of Hongyang Rural Tourism and Characteristic Agriculture Integration Development Association, Xie Xuan, director of MRD Group, President of DE-SIGN ARCHITECTURAL and member of Academic Committee of Shanghai Architectural Society, and other guests attended the ceremony.
Due to the epidemic situation, Jin Qiuye, executive vice president, professor and doctoral supervisor of School of architecture and urban planning of Beijing Jianzhu University, Zou Qiang (France), host of zone of Utopia, and Gong Benyang (Germany), director of derwald construction group, participated in the award ceremony online through video conference.
The international competition started in December last year and has experienced several rounds of strict selection and public voting. Finally, 15 works were shortlisted, including 1 first prize, 2 second prize, 5 third prize and 7 shortlisted.
Among them, <Gui Chao> won the title of the competition , <Wan Nan Shi Er Shi Chen> <You Yu Zi,Qi Yu Chao>won the second prize, and <Gui Yu> <Shi Guang Sen Lin> <Shan Chan Yi Ju> <Qing Le Yuan> <CLIMB AMONG THE IRREGULAR FOREST > won the third prize.
It is worth mentioning that the judges highly recognized the top 15 works, and during the first prize selection, there was a heated debate between the entries<Gui Chao>and <Wan Nan Shi Er Shi Chen> .
At the opening of the grand ceremony, Wu Xuhui, chairman and President of MRD Group and President of Hongyang Rural Tourism and Characteristic Agriculture Integrated Development Association, delivered a speech:
"With the continuous changes of the times, the relationship between man and nature, society and environment, urban and rural has been changing and evolving. At present, the planning and development of rural economy has become an important topic of the times.
In 2020, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas will issue the "national rural industry development plan", which is the first time that the country has made a comprehensive plan for the development of rural industry.
How to give a satisfactory answer is the direction for our generation to think and work hard. This is not only the original intention of MRD Group to hold this international design competition, but also the strategic goal of continuous cultivation in the future.
This competition gathered an international professional evaluation team, trying to combine the most cutting-edge and sustainable development design concept with the current national rural industrial development policy, to create a landmark building with local characteristics and the characteristics of the times in Hongyang Town, Wuhu Wan Zhi District, adding color to the local economic development and township construction.
At the same time, we also hope that through the cooperation with the government, industry associations and universities, we can build a channel for personnel training and transportation, encourage those who are brave in innovation and practice, and inject the background of internationalization and sustainable development into the whole industry"

"MRD CUP"Health-preserving Valley International Design Competition with the theme of "combining the protection and inheritance of rural culture with holiday tourism,building an ecological community with the organic integration of human and nature", and taking Hongyang town eco-tourism holiday demonstration area located in Wanzhi District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province as the main body, which is open to the world.
